I randomly came across Churches and Cathedrals and was instantly drawn to it. It’s a big coffee table book, loaded with pictures of churches and cathedrals across the world. It discusses different periods and styles of architecture, and shows both aerial views as well as close-ups of detailing. It’s beautifully executed.
My sister immediately came to mind. She loves Jesus more than most people love… well, anything. She’s also as enamored with travel as I am. It struck me as an oddly perfect gift, in that it was unusual and unexpected but appealed to her interests.
Part of me thinks she might find inspiration for her next trip within the pages. The other part of me thinks that may be a bit unrealistic. Either way, it’s an interesting and eye-catching book and is sure to be a conversation piece for anyone who may spy it on her shelves.

a fiction book that I loved that your family recommended to me years ago, was Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett…It is written about the catherdal building during the 1200′s…awesome book.
